Everywhere!
Big cities will create a wonderfully loud racket
Suburbs will connect neighbors across the street… 5 doors down… or 2 blocks away—Replacing the feelings of isolation and helplessness with a feeling of community
Even small Red towns—Imagine the relief of isolation when you hear one banging pot… and then another… and another… Who’s banging? No one knows for sure… but they hear the discontent.
On the road? Honk that horn. Our cars provide us with a feeling of power we get no other place. It’s why nice people can become road rage crazy people. Cars give us a sense of anonymity. So, pull off the road and find a place to toot that horn for 100 seconds!
Where—Everywhere! That is why this works! We can do it every and anywhere
Backyard for the bashful
Front yard for the brave
Garage when it’s raining
Balcony in your apartment
From our car honk baby honk
From our bike ring that bell
Park blow that whistle
Anywhere
With
Pots and pans
Whistles
Horns
Kazoos
Phone apps
Songs
A cacophony of sound
-No travel, 1-minute, no cost
-It is a way to create community as you hear the person 2 blocks away banging on their pans.
-It is a way to protest for those -Who are time-pressed -Who are too far from the nearest protest -Who are at home caring for others -Who are uncomfortable... Bang in your backyard, or deck or garage... As more of your neighbors bang move to the front yard
-It is a way to reach every neighborhood as people start to ask... Did you hear all that banging last night?
-It is a way to reach those millions that don't watch the news or drive by the protests
-It has a slight chance of becoming viral like the ice bucket challenge... As people try to figure out ways to be even more creative "banging their pans"
-It's a way to take out your frustrations! 🙂
